Concept of Leadership
According to Newstrom and Davis –  “Leadership is the process of influencing and supporting others to work enthusiastically toward achieving objectives.”
According to Stephen P. Robbins –  “Leadership is the ability to influence a group toward the achievement of goals.”

In conclusion:
Leadership(or leading) is the ability(process) of influencing the behavior of people and directing towards the achievement of certain goals. It is the art of influencing and inspiring the behavior of others in accordance with requirements. Organization needs strong leadership and management to achieve maximum possible effectiveness out of the available human and other resources.

Nature of Leadership
Influence: leaders influence followers through non coercive power
Goal-Directed: leadership influences followers to willingly and enthusiastically achieve common goals.
Situational: situation determines the leadership style.
Unidirectional Authority: only leaders possess authority to direct followers not the followers.

Leadership is made up of Leader-who unites and stimulates the followers toward goals, Follower leader without followers is unthinkable and Situation leadership is situation specific, it makes or breaks the leaders.
