Difference between e-commerce and e-business
E-commerce is the process through which the buying, selling, dealing, ordering and paying for the goods and services are done over the internet while e-business is a little different as it is not limited to commercial transactions, but it also provides other services. E-commerce is just concerned with the firm’s dealings with its customers, clients or suppliers while e-business undertakes firms/industry, trade, and commerce with the help of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

E-commerce primarily involves transactions that cross firm boundaries. E-business primarily involves the application of digital technologies to business processes within the firm. E-business is the business which is done with the help of internet or electronic data interchange. All the basic business operations are done using electronic media. But e-commerce just deals with transactions using electronic media. The key differences between e-commerce and e-business are in tabular-form as follows;

E-commerce E-business
E-commerce is a transaction of buying or selling goods online. E-business is an electronic presence of business, by which all the business activities are conducted through the internet.
It includes transactions which are related to money only. It includes monetary as well as provides services to the customers, communication with employees, client, discussion about company, issues, etc.
It is a subset of E-business. It is superset.
It has an extroverted approach that covers customers, suppliers, distributors, etc. It has an ambivert approach that covers internal as well as external processes.
It just requires a website that can represent the business. To run the business over the internet successfully, it requires a website, Customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning.
To connect to the people of world, it uses internet. It uses internet, intranet and extranet to connect with the parties.
Primarily E-commerce are of 5 types; B2B (Business-to-business) ,B2C (Business-to-Customer) ,C2C (Customer-to-Customer) ,C2B (Customer-to-Business) and B2G (Business-to-Government). E-business are of two types; Pure commerce and Partial commerce (also known as Brick and Click).
For example: online banking, online shopping, online ticket booking, social networking, etc For example: all the activities of business firms along with e-commerce.
